Manual Entry of Steps and Intensity Minutes

Steps and intensity minutes can be entered manually by the patient instead of being collected by a Garmin watch. The patient gets a clear task telling them to enter yesterday's value.

The patient's tasks

Each manual parameter gets its own task:

  • Enter yesterday's steps

  • Enter yesterday's Intensity Minutes

Opening the task shows the manual entry screen. The patient can also enter a value from the web portal.

  • The task moves to completed once yesterday's value is entered.

  • If nothing is entered, the task disappears after the reminder's grace period.

Rules for manual values

  • A value always applies to the previous calendar day. The date can't be changed.

  • Only one value can be entered per day. Re-submitting for the same day shows an error.

  • Manual input isn't possible if measurements already exist for the previous day.

  • Values are checked and rejected with a clear, translated message when out of range:

Parameter

Accepted values

Steps

0 – 100,000

Intensity Minutes

0 – 2,880

💡 Intensity minutes are different from clock minutes. A minute can be counted twice if the patient's heart rate is over the vigorous threshold, which is why the limit is higher than the 1,440 minutes in a day.
